Description The Jack Russell Terrier is a breed of dog that is normally confused with the Parson Russell Terrier. The latter has a shorter body and longer legs, while Jack Russell has a longer body and shorter legs. This breed is not yet formally recognized by the American Kennel Club. They have a small compact body, broad flat head, a narrow and shallow chest, and a short tail. Other notable features of Jack Russell Terriers include its wiry or smooth white coat that may have brown, black, or light brown markings, as well as its powerful jaw. This dog breed is energetic, athletic, and agile by nature—making them good hunters. Moreover, they are also highly intelligent, vocal, and may serve as effective guard dogs. Other than making sure that they get sufficient exercise, caring for Jack Russell is easy. Since they only have a short coat, they do not require frequent bathing. However, to keep their coat in good condition, it is advised to brush it using a firm bristle brush. Since Jack Russell can be stubborn at times, it is highly recommended to give them obedience training.
